Hi, I'm Jamie, a dedicated mom of two wonderful boys and a passionate advocate for families navigating the autism journey. With a diploma in Business Management, I combine my professional skills with personal experience to provide support and guidance.
My oldest son has autism, and I've firsthand experienced the challenges of long waitlists and the overwhelming process that follows a diagnosis. That's why I've made it my mission to be the first point of contact for families after receiving an autism diagnosis. I'm here to offer the support, resources, and understanding you need during this critical time.
Together, we can ensure no family feels alone on this journey.
Stay tuned for our full staff introductions upon opening!

Hi, my name is Emily Smith, and I am the supervised lead therapist here at Spectrum Learning Centre!
A little bit about me is that I am recently engaged to my high school sweetheart, I have four younger sisters, and I have recently started taking horseback riding lessons for the first time!
My professional experience includes over ten years supporting children, teens, and adults, with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings such as summer camp programs, non-profit organizations, group homes, college programs, social day programs, Employment Ontario programs, and centres for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
My educational experience includes a two year Developmental Services Worker (DSW) diploma that was completed in 2018, and a Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Science that I recently graduated from in April of 2024.
I am thrilled to be a part of Spectrum Learning Centre, and I am confident that our interdisciplinary team of speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavior therapists will support the development and achievement of each child's unique goals!

Communicative Disorder Assistant
Hello! I’m Ashley. A wife, a mother of two little humans, and a Communicative Disorders Assistant, with years of experience working with children with developmental delays.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from York University, and two post-secondary certificates in Behavioral Science and Communication Disorders. Some of my experience includes implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), as well as Gestalt Language Processing strategies to help children and their families reach the highest of their goals.
My favourite hobbies are gardening, video gaming, and baking with my family. The holidays are always a special time in our home, the air is filled with the smell of cinnamon and vanilla, the table is filled with homemade crafts, and the feeling is warmth. I am so excited to bring that sense of family to SLC.

Hello, my name is Avery Hudson!
In the last few years I have been building my experience working with children who have autism, as it has always been a passion of mine since I was a young child.
I attended Trent University and obtained my degree in Child and Youth Studies, which furthered my interest of working in this field.
I am a proud mother of two, and just recently got married! Outside of work, I like to be with my family, workout, and spend time outdoors. I am excited to be a part of the SLC team and can’t wait to mee you all!

Hello! My name is Pamela, and I am incredibly delighted to be a part of the team at SLC. I recently obtained my Honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Trent University and have a deep passion for supporting individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. During my student placement, I gained hands-on experience by developing and running programs focused on promoting mental well-being and overall supporting individuals on the spectrum.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my two dogs, who are always up for a walk, or exploring new trails together. I’m an avid reader and love diving into a variety of genres, such as thriller, fantasy, and fiction. When I’m not with a book, I love to immerse myself into new worlds through video games.
I’m excited to bring my knowledge, enthusiasm, and love for connecting with people to SLC, and I look forward to making a positive impact within this wonderful community!
Helping children maintain their uniqueness while living to their full potential.
